Zee - Help a Mother of Four Orphans Living in a Collapsing Building

With winter coming and no provider, Aya and her children shelter under tarpaulins in Gaza

Aya Muhammad Al-Sawalha is raising four orphaned children alone: Rahaf (13), Rafif (11), Mahmoud (8) and baby Ahmed (1). The family has no provider and no income. They live in a small, burnt-out building that is close to collapse, held together with tarpaulins.

Aya rented this place because of Ahmed’s health. He has a chest allergy that becomes much worse in winter and needs regular medication, along with milk and nappies. Mahmoud has learning difficulties and missed three years of school during the war. He needs a special learning programme, but it is far beyond what Aya can afford.

The family receives only two jugs of water a day, so her daughters queue from six in the morning for drinking water. With winter coming, the children have no warm clothes or blankets to protect them from the bitter cold. Every month, Aya needs £480 to cover food, rent, school costs, milk and nappies for her baby, and warm clothes and blankets for winter.
